Bahar Ghodousi

Persian/Middle Eastern/Mediterranean CuisineCooking Instructor

Bahar is a self-taught cook with22 years of experience in perfecting her culinary skills. Growing up in a Persian culture centered around food and family, she developed a passion for cooking and baking from an early age. Bahar loves creating new recipes and enjoys sharing her culture through lively cooking classes focused on Persian and Mediterranean dishes.

Deborah Dupuis

Master Chef de Cuisine

Deborah Dupuis has dedicated her life to teaching and culinary arts. Her for food began with her love for the environment and travel. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, she honed her skills in restaurants and bake shops, starting in Atlantic City and later baking in Hawaii for five years. Since 2009, Deborah has been a culinary instructor at Sur la Table, specializing in French pastry, Italian dishes, Thai and French cuisines. In her free time, she enjoys foraging, hiking, and skiing.

Paella Night

Deliciously salty and smoky, this traditional Spanish dish is not hard to make at home with the right ingredients. Learn the techniques to make paella accompanied by a bright and earthy salad incorporating more flavors from Spain.

Winter Macarons

Learn to make macarons using both the French and Italian methods. Pipe them out and make the fillings while they dry. Students will make enough to take a small box home to share.

Persian Brunch

In this class participants will learn to make classic and authentic Persian, Middle Eastern or Mediterranean dishes. This class also provides great information about the culinary cooking techniques and cultural gastronomic traditions in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean countries.

Crêpes Making Class

Learn how to make Crêpes from a Pastry Chef. You will learn to prepare the batter, fillings and beurre Suzette sauce from scratch. We will make savory and sweet Crêpes.You will go home with recipes and detailed instructions to prepare crepes and galettes for your family and friends on your own!

Indian Cuisine

In this Indian Cuisine class, learn to make Chicken or Veggie Tikka Masala, a rich and flavorful dish, along with a refreshing Cooling Raita and a zesty Green Chutney. Finish the experience by preparing a creamy Mango Lassi. Perfect for all skill levels, this class will help you bring the vibrant taste of India to your kitchen!

Middle Eastern Cuisine

In our Middle Eastern Cuisine Course, participants will learn to make three authentic Middle Eastern dishes. Tzatziki (Mast o Khiyar), a refreshing yogurt and cucumber dip; Persian Stuffed Peppers, a flavorful combination of rice, herbs, and spices nestled in vibrant peppers; and Zeytoon Parvardeh, a zesty and savory appetizer. This dish strikes a perfect balance between being easy enough for weeknight dinner and elegant enough for a nice night out

The Art of Pasta Making

This class is designed to introduce you to the Italian tradition of making fresh pasta from scratch. Let your culinary confidence soar and as you learn your way around the pasta machine as well as hand cutting techniques. Using a classic egg-based pasta dough, you’ll learn traditional pasta.

Una Notte in Italia

This class gives you the skills to make a delicious Italian dinner. Using star ingredients, we will steer the flavors so you are reminded of where you are in Italy. Porcini mushrooms, gnocchi and creamy panna cotta are all from the Northern region. Learn the importance of properly seasoning, searing and resting a steak, shaping gnocchi and working with gelatin.
